Women's squash starts 3-1; men go 2-2

HARTFORD, Conn. --- First position players Samantha Smith for the Colby College women's squash team and Ryan Maher for the men each went 3-1 in the opening matches of the season for the Mules.

The Colby women finished at 3-1 with victories over Wesleyan (8-1), Connecticut College (6-3), and Vassar (5-4). The men were 2-2 and won matches against Wesleyan (6-3) and Vassar. Both squads lost 9-0 to Trinity and the men also fell 6-3 to Connecticut College.

Sophie Newbury and Caroline Reaves also went 3-1 for the Colby women. Stacy Petro, Maddie Dufour, Jae Pak, and Jessica Kravetz each went 2-2.

Dan Lesser was the other Colby men's player to have a 3-1 record. Alex Fulton, Brett Willis, Harry Goldstein, Dan Cramer, and Schuyler Weiss all went 2-2.
