Norsworthy takes second in 200 breaststroke

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. --- Kelly Norsworthy finished in second place in the 200-yard breaststroke in her final New England Small College Athletic Conference race of her career on Sunday at the women's conference championships at Wesleyan University.

Norsworthy had won all three breaststroke races last year at the championships and had already captured the 50 and 100 breaststroke at the meet this season. She finished with a time of 2:23.56 to take runner-up honors to Michell Kurkel (2:23.01) of Williams College.

Norsworthy, Maddie Given, Chelsea Heneghan, and Kelsey Potdevin placed seventh in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:39.13. Heneghan also was 10th in the 100 freestyle with a 53.97 clocking.

Colby finished in eighth place in the meet with 653 points. Williams won the title with 1,749 points and was followed by Middlebury (1,371.5), Amherst (1,328.5), Tufts (758), Connecticut College (757), Wesleyan (705), Bowdoin (673.5), Colby (653), Bates (582.5), Hamilton (519), and Trinity (296).
