Fischer 12th for men's swim team at league meet

BRUNSWICK, Maine --- Ryan Fischer took 12th place and Mason Roberts was 17th in the 200-yard breaststroke for Colby College at the NESCAC Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on Sunday night at Bowdoin College.

Fischer had the 11th-best time in the preliminary race with a 2:10.71 finish and then closed with a 2:12.69 in the 'B' race final. Roberts had a 2:11.23 in taking the 'C' race final. The time by Roberts would have had him second in the 'B' race final and 10th overall.

In the 200 backstroke, first-years Andy Peterson was 18th overall in 1:59.62 and John Madeira took 19th with  a 2:00.25.

Tom Hurley, Peterson, Ray Rieling, and Ryan Trafton took 11th place in the 400 freestyle relay with a 3:14.06.

Colby finished with 338.5 points in taking 10th place at the NESCAC meet.
