OXFORD, Ohio --- The Colby College women's swimming and diving team finished in the top 20 at the NCAA Division III Championships for the fifth straight year after the Mules placed 16th at this year's meet.
Colby had 56 points to place 16th out of 53 scoring teams at the meet. The Mules were 20th in 2004, took eighth in 2005, finished 15th in 2006, and were 13th a year ago.
Kelly Norsworthy was tied for eighth place at 2:22.88 after preliminaries in the 200 breaststroke and had to go in a swim-off with Calvin College's Maggie Vail to see who would advance to the championship final. Vail moved on and eventually finished sixth overall, while Norsworthy took 10th place in her final race at Colby with 2:23.16 in the consolation final (places 9-16).
Norsworthy finished her career at Colby with seven individual All-American honors (placing in the top 8) at the NCAA meet.
