Smith sets third school record for Colby

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. --- Kevin Smith broke his third school record after taking fourth place in the 1,650-yard freestyle event at the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Championships on Sunday at Middlebury College.

Smith, a sophomore, had a time of 16:17.08 to secure his third school record. He had already broken records in the 500 and 1,000 freestyle in the first two days of the meet.

Smith also joined forces with Evan Mullin, Peter Williams, and Sam Wampler to take seventh place in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:12.10.

Mullin placed 10th in the 100 freestyle (47.01), Andrew Peterson was 11th in the 200 breaststroke (2:14.18), and Mike Finnerty took 12th in the 200 backstroke (1:58.77, 1:57.99 prelim).
