Brittany Tasi

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College’s Brittany Tasi (Shelton, Conn.), a junior left-hander, was named to the ESPN The Magazine District 1 All-Academic softball team after another season of being among the top pitchers in the New England Small College Athletic Conference.

Tasi was selected to the third team and was one of seven NESCAC softball players honored. She was one of just six pitchers selected to the three teams and was one of just two pitchers from NESCAC. District I includes all Division III colleges in New York and New England.

Tasi finished with a 7-3 record and a 2.24 earned run average while throwing close to 68.2 innings. She was fifth in the NESCAC in earned run average, tied for third in fewest total runs allowed (22), and fourth in fewest walks (13). Tasi had four shutouts and one combined shutout for the 18-11 Mules.

A psychology major, Tasi also was second in the conference in the 2008 season in earned run average (1.93) and was first in fewest runs allowed (24), first in earned runs allowed (16), and was tied for second in fewest walks (10).

Tasi has a 2.31 career earned run average in three years at Colby and a 13-10 record in nearly 155 innings of work. She has struck out 69 batters and walked 27 in her career.
