Lowe fifth after first day of Open NE decathlon

NEW HAVEN, Conn. --- Colby College's David Lowe is in fifth place in the decathlon competition after the first day of events at the Open New England Track and Field Championships at Southern Connecticut State University on Thursday.

Lowe had 3,169 points and is the only Division III athlete in the field of nine. No other details were available on the five events he competed in Thursday.
