WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College’s Brianna Kondrat (Eaton, N.H.) made it four honors in five weeks after once again being named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Field Performer of the Week and was one of three Mules to be named to the women’s outdoor track and field all-conference team.
Kondrat, Danielle Sheppard (Kittery, Maine), and Devan FitzPatrick (Greenwich, Conn.) also earned all-conference honors for being in the top three of an event at the league meet.
Kondrat and Sheppard made it five weeks in a row for Colby athletes to earn the NESCAC Field Performer of the Week honor. Kondrat earned the honor the first two weeks, Sheppard was recognized in the third week, and Kondrat has secured the award the past two weeks.
Kondrat had a throw of 162-04 to win the New England Division III title in the hammer throw and also placed second in the discus. She had set a school record a week earlier with a throw of 167-01 to win the NESCAC title.
Sheppard also won New England Division III and NESCAC titles in the high jump. She tied her best jump ever with a leap of 5-4.25 in the event at the New England Division III meet. She had previously had that jump in a meet at Bowdoin College earlier in the season.
FitzPatrick earned all-league honors after taking second in the 5,000-meter run at the conference meet with a time of 18:12.39. She took eighth place in the event at the New England Division III meet, but did run a faster time of 18:11.46.
