SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. --- The Colby College volleyball team lost two tough 3-2 matches in going 1-3 at the Hall of Fame Tournament at Mount Holyoke College and Smith College on Friday and Saturday.
The Mules fell 3-2 to Bowdoin College (27-30, 30-27, 27-30, 30-25, 15-12) and 3-0 to Bridgewater State (30-28, 30-28, 30-11) on Saturday. Colby took a 3-1 win over Wheaton College (30-20, 27-30, 30-18, 30-17) and lost 3-2 to Wellesley College (30-23, 30-19, 30-32, 24-30, 15-12) on Friday.
Meredith Lawler had 19 kills and Larissa Levine had 13 kills for Colby in the Bowdoin match. Kendall Kirby finished with 30 digs and four service aces, Jenny Lawrence had 46 assists and 23 digs and Carlie Minichino added 24 digs.
Jessie Prentice had seven kills and Lawrence added 19 assists in the setback to Bridgewater.
In the win against Wheaton, Cassie Sancartier had 35 assists and 18 digs to lead the way. Julie Hike had 13 kills, Kirby had 20 digs and eight aces, Prentice added five aces, Lawler had 11 kills and Megan Conroy added 10 kills.
Prentice had 10 kills, 19 digs and six aces against Wellesley. Hike had 13 kills, Lawler blocked five and had 11 kills, Sancartier had 34 assists and Conroy had 19 digs.
