Volleyball loses league match to Bowdoin

WATERVILLE, Maine ­-- Jessie Prentice (New York, N.Y.) had 10 kills and 11 defensive digs in her final home match for Colby College, but Bowdoin College had three players with nine kills in a 3-0 victory over the Mules in a New England Small College Athletic Conference volleyball match Wednesday night.

Meredith Lawler (Lynnfield, Mass.) added nine kills, nine digs, and three blocks for Colby (8-11, 1-3 NESCAC). Heather Arvidson (Andover, Mass.) also had nine kills, while Jenny Lawrence (Lafayette, Calif.) had 24 assists. Cassie Sancartier (Haverhill, Mass.), Colby's other senior, and Megan Conroy (San Francisco, Calif.) both had 16 digs.

Bowdoin (11-8, 1-3 NESCAC) got nine kills apiece from Skye Lawrence (Kentfield, Calif.), Amanda Leahy (Abington, Mass.), and Gillian Page (Mercer Island, Wash.) in the 32-30, 30-26, 30-19 victory. Page also had 16 defensive digs, Lawrence added 13 digs, and Leahy had two blocks.
