Parent gets 250th win as volleyball goes 1-1

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. --- Colby College volleyball head coach Candice Parent won her 250th career match as the Mules took a 3-1 win over Eastern Connecticut State and a 3-0 loss to Ithaca College at the Crabtree Classic on Friday night.

Parent has a record of 250-171 in her 14th season at Colby. The Mules fell 3-0 (30-19, 30-26, 30-26) to Ithaca and then Parent got the milestone win with a 3-1 win (30-15, 30-19, 28-30, 30-22) over Eastern Connecticut.

Meredith Lawler had 18 kills, while Jenny Lawrence added 31 assists and 12 digs for Colby (9-12) in the Eastern Connecticut match. Cassie Sancartier finished with 15 digs and Heathe Arvidson had nine kills.

Lawler also had 14 kills in the match against Ithaca. Lawrence was at 27 assists and nine digs, while Jessie Prentice had 13 digs and six kills.

Colby plays Bridgewater State at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and then takes on Johnson & Wales at 12:30 p.m.
