Volleyball suffers two tough 3-2 losses

BRUNSWICK, Maine --- The Colby College volleyball team got ahead only to lose two tough matches to the University of Dallas and Rivier College at the Mid-Coast Classic at Bowdoin College on Sunday.

        The Mules fell 3-2 (28-30, 31-29, 26-30, 30-28, 16-14) to Dallas and lost 3-2 (30-23, 28-30, 26-30, 30-27, 15-11) to Rivier.

      Meredith Lawler had 18 kills, while Julie Hike and Jessie Prentice each had 17 kills in the match against Dallas. Jenny Lawrence finished with 53 assists and seven service aces.

        Colby (11-10), which played without Lawler in the match against Rivier, got 15 kills, seven digs and five blocks from Hike. Prentice added 13 kills and 21 digs, Lawrence dished 44 assists, Kendall Kirby had 28 digs, and Megan Conroy added 10 kills.
