The Mules took a 25-16, 25-8, 25-19 win over Husson in a morning match and then notched a 25-13, 25-17, 25-12 victory against UMF.
Heather Arvidson added eight kills and Lily Kramlich-Taylor finished with six kills and six aces in the win against Husson. Emily Varni, who had five kills, and Clare Reich both had 10 defensive digs.
"We really served the ball well today and overall I thought we passed the ball extremely well," Colby head coach Candice Parent said.
In the win against UMF, Kramlich-Taylor had 10 kills and Arvidson finished with seven kills. Varni had 12 digs, six kills, and three aces for the Mules. Caitlin Burchill also had six kills and added six digs, Reich had 11 digs, and Maggie Taylor served four aces. Pleasants also had six digs and three aces to go along with her 19 assists.
"Our two first-year setters (Pleasants and Ellie Linden) really did a nice job with the limited practice time we had before these matches," Parent said. "For the their first collegiate matches, they were really strong."
