Volleyball drops three league matches

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. --- The Colby College volleyball team went five games with Middlebury College before falling in the final match of an 0-3 New England Small College Athletic Conference weekend.

The Mules fell to Middlebury (14-30, 30-20, 30-26, 29-31, 16-14) in five and Hamilton (30-27, 30-22, 30-16) and Williams (30-16, 30-18, 30-17) in three games.

Jenny Lawrence had 46 assists and 34 defensive digs in the loss to Middlebury. Heather Arvidson added 20 kills and seven blocks, Meredith Lawler smacked 17 kills and added 23 digs, Jessie Prentice had 26 digs, and Megan Conroy had 10 kills.

Lawler finished with 11 kills and 11 digs in the Hamilton match. Lawrence had 20 assists and 15 digs to go along with four service aces.

Lawrence added 18 assists and 16 digs in the Williams match. Cassie Sancartier had 12 digs, while Conroy finished with nine digs and five kills.

Colby plays a league match at Bates at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
