Volleyball team drops league match to Tufts

WATERVILLE, Maine --- The Colby College volleyball team fell to 3-3 overall on the season as Tufts University won for the second straight day with a 3-0 victory over the Mules on Saturday at Wadsworth Gymnasium.

Sophomore setter Kendall Lord (LaJolla, Calif.) finished with 30 assists, nine defensive digs, and two aces for the Jumbos.

Tufts is 5-2 overall and 2-0 in league play, while Colby falls to 3-3 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

Colby's Kate Pleasants (Virginia Beach, Va.) had 15 assists and 14 digs in the 25-14, 25-7, 25-20 setback. Clare Reich (Piedmont, Calif.) had a team-high 16 digs, Caitlin Burchill (Walpole, Mass.) had 14 digs and four kills, and Maggie Taylor (Cabin John, Md.) finished with 11 digs and a pair of blocks. Lily Kramlich-Taylor (Sacramento, Calif.) led the way in kills with seven and had two blocks.

Tufts' Cara Spieler (Santa Barbara, Calif.) added 10 kills and three aces, while Caitlin Updike (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) had 12 kills and six digs. Audrey Kuan (Los Altos, Calif.) had eight digs and one ace and no errors on 14 service attempts.
