Bowdoin volleyball takes non-league win over Colby

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Erin Prifogle (Eaton, Ohio) had 22 kills to lead the Bowdoin College volleyball team to a 3-1 victory (26-30, 30-26, 30-26, 30-26) over Colby College in a non-conference match at Wadsworth Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

The Polar Bears (4-1) and Colby (5-3) will play a New England Small College Athletic Conference match at Bowdoin on Wednesday, October 4.

Margo Linton (Atherton, Calif.) added 56 assists and 27 digs for Bowdoin.

Julie Hike (Falmouth, Mass.) led Colby with 13 kills, while Meredith Lawler (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Cassie Sancartier (Haverhill, Mass.) both had nine. Jenny Lawrence (Lafayette, Calif.) added 28 assists and 18 digs, while Kendall Kirby (Piedmont, Calif.) had 19 digs.

Colby and Bowdoin will each play in the MIT Invitational this Friday and Saturday. The Mules face Bridgewater State in their first match at 6 p.m. Friday. The Polar Bears play at the same time against Vassar College.
