Volleyball has setback to Bates, 3-1

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Tess Dokus had 14 kills and teammate Grace Haessler dished 42 assists as the Bates College volleyball team took a 3-1 win over Colby College on Wednesday night at Wadsworth Gymnasium.

Bates won by scores of 25-17, 22-25, 25-16, and 25-10.

Bates is 8-2 overall and Colby falls to 4-9. The match did not count toward the New England Small College Athletic Conference standings. The league match will be October 21 at Bates.

Liz Leberman added seven kills and 17 digs for the Bobcats, while Eliza Pyne had eight kills and teammate Olivia Schow had six kills and four aces. Nicole Russell helped out defensively with 12 digs.

Caitlin Burchill had 10 kills, 12 digs, and two aces for the Mules. Heather Arvidson finished with nine kills and three blocks, Clare Reich had 20 digs, Mackie Sewall finished with three blocks, and Emily Ten Eyck had 18 assists and three aces.
