HARTFORD, Conn. --- Jules Kowalski had a collegiate-high 26 points and added 13 rebounds as the Colby College women's basketball team moved to 14-4 overall with a 58-48 road win at Trinity College on Saturday. The Mules improve to 3-2 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference, while Trinity falls to 12-7 overall and 2-3 in the conference. Colby stands in fifth place in the league. Kowalski was 7-for-9 from the field, 12-for-12 from the foul line, had 12 defensive rebounds, dished two assists, and blocked two shots. Her previous career high was 21 points in a game against Southern Maine in the 2008-09 season. Kowalski is up to 931 points and 689 rebounds for her career. Aarika Ritchie finished with 16 points on 5-for-8 shooting, while Rachael Mack was 10-for-10 from the foul line and had 14 points and seven rebounds. Kowalski, Mack, and Ritchie accounted for 56 of Colby's 58 points. Jacky McLaughlin, who had a 3-point shot for the Mules, and Diana Manduca both had three assists. Mack, a junior, went over 500 career rebounds and currently has 506 boards and 758 points. The Mules helped their own cause with 27-for-31 shooting (87 percent) from the foul line, while Trinity was just 11-for-16. Colby led the entire first half and took a 31-20 lead into halftime. The Bantams, though, did not give up and tied the game at 44-44 with 5:15 to play. Mack hit two free throws with four minutes left and Ritchie added a 3-point play with 3:09 to go in giving the Mules the lead for good.
