Women's basketball handles Maine-Machias

MACHIAS, Maine --- Tracy Nale shot 7-for-9 from the field and had a game-high 18 points to help the Colby College women's basketball team to an 81-32 non-conference victory over University of Maine at Machias on Sunday.

Courtney Williams added 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting and Katie McCabe was 5-for-7 from the field and had 11 points. Alison Cappelloni sored nine points, Lauren Duval chipped in with seven points and Kathleen Nicholson had a team-best five assists for the Mules (2-7).

Tanya Rosbash and Molly Rice each returned to the lineup after sitting out the first eight games with injury problems. Rosbash had seven points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Rice added three points and a pair of assists.

The Mules shot 59 percent from the field in the first half in opening up a 51-16 lead at the break.

Amanda Chandler had 12 points and seven rebounds for Maine-Machias.

Colby will play at Bates College this Tuesday at 6 p.m. in a non-conference game. The league game between the two teams will happen later in the season.
