WATERVILLE, Maine --- The Colby College women’s basketball team used a 22-0 run in the first half on the way to a 38-15 halftime lead in coasting to a 70-39 non-conference victory over Thomas College on Tuesday night at Wadsworth Gymnasium.

The Mules played their final regular season home game in moving to 12-9 overall. Colby ended the regular season at 10-3 at Wadsworth Gymnasium in the first full season with the new basketball court at the facility. Thomas fell to 4-17 overall.

Alison Cappelloni (Sudbury, Mass.) nearly had her third straight double-double in scoring and rebounding, but she finished with 13 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in 21 minutes of action. Aarika Ritchie (Lee, Maine) led all scorers with 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting, while Sam Allen (Bridgton, Maine) finished with 12 points. Rachael Mack (Augusta, Maine) played just 15 minutes and had 11 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

The Mules had a 55-32 rebounding advantage over the Terriers and held Thomas to just 19.7 percent shooting. Julianne Kowalski (Montville, N.J.) also had six rebounds to go along with eight points and Jilian Vaughan (Wareham, Mass.) pulled down six boards.

Colby led 14-12 with 12:47 to play in the first half before going on the 22-0 run to make the score 36-12 with 4:05 to play.

Cortney Barrett (Monmouth, Maine) had 12 points for Thomas. Mallorie Blakney (Fairfield, Maine) added 11 points, while Amy Miles (Waldo, Maine) finished with seven points and 10 rebounds.
