Women's basketball goes overtime for win

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Alison Cappelloni had a collegiate-high 28 points and Katie McCabe pulled down a career-high 21 rebounds as the Colby College women's basketball team took a 77-71 overtime victory over Thomas College in non-conference play Tuesday night at Thomas.

Colby (8-13) led 67-54 with 5:53 left in regulation, but Thomas battled back with a 14-1 run to tie the game at 68-68 and send it into overtime. Julianne Kowalski had four points and one blocked shot in overtime to lead the Mules. Kowalski finished with 11 points, 13 rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Cappelloni also had eight rebounds and two blocks, while McCabe finished with 19 points and three assists. McCabe had 10 offensive rebounds among her 21 boards. Karlyn Adler added eight points, five rebounds, and three assists.

Cortney Barrett had 10 of her 16 points in the final 5:53 to help Thomas tie the game.  Karen Demers added 17 points for the Terriers.
