Women's basketball falls, playoff game set

MEDFORD, Mass. --- Despite a 31-for-39 effort from the foul line, the Colby College women's basketball team fell 84-60 to Tufts University in New England Small College Athletic Conference play Saturday.

The Mules (8-15, 2-7 NESCAC) are the eighth seed in the upcoming NESCAC tourney and will play at top-seeded Amherst College at 2 p.m. next Saturday in a quarterfinal game. Colby finishes the regular season with a 6 p.m. road game at University of Maine at Presque Isle at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Katie McCabe finished with 20 points, including 12-for-16 from the foul line, and nine rebounds for the Mules. Meredith Aronson chipped in with 14 points for Colby, which shot 18-for-22 from the foul line in the second half.

Khalilah Ummah led Tufts (21-2, 7-2) with 17 points and 19 rebounds.
