WATERVILLE, Maine --- Alison Cappelloni (Sudbury, Mass.) scored Colby College's final seven points, including the go-ahead points with 53 seconds left in the game, to lift the Mules to a 62-57 win over Trinity College in New England Small College Athletic Conference women's basketball play Saturday at Wadsworth Gymnasium.

Cappelloni finished with game-highs of 25 points and 13 rebounds. She had nine points, three rebounds, and a steal in the final 3:18 of the game.

Trinity (9-9, 0-6 NESCAC) led 56-55 when Cappelloni scored with 53 seconds left to give Colby (6-12, 2-4) the lead for good. After a missed jumper by the Bantams with 35 seconds left, Trinity elected not to foul and Cappelloni buried a 3-point shot with six seconds remaining.

Trinity's  Devon Kearns (Glastonbury, Conn.) got fouled with three seconds left and made her first free throw to cut the lead to 60-57. She intentionally missed the second free throw, but Cappelloni got the rebound and sank two free throws for the final points of the contest.

Julianne Kowalski (Montville, N.J.) added 13 points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots for the Mules. Katie McCabe (Watertown, Conn.) chipped in 12 points and six rebounds. Heather Quadir (Medford, Mass.) had six points and four assists for the winners.

Claire Arnstein (Hicksville, N.Y.) paced Trinity with 14 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Christine Card (Waterbury, Conn.) finished with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Kathleen Conlon (Sagamore Beach, Mass.) had 10 points and eight rebounds.

Foul shooting proved to be a key for Colby as the Mules nailed 17-for-20 compared to Trinity's 11-for-22. The Bantams did have 20 offensive rebounds and had a 49-38 margin in rebounding.
