Colby players earn All-State honors

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Katie McCabe, Alison Cappelloni, and Julianne Kowalski all earned season-ending honors from the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) on Thursday.

McCabe was named to the Maine All-State first team, while Cappelloni was on the second team. Kowalski was selected to the All-Rookie squad.

McCabe, a senior, just earned second team honors on Wednesday from the New England Small College Athletic Conference. McCabe was tied for second in the NESCAC in scoring (15.3) and was second in rebounding (9.5). She also led the Mules in field goal percentage (.455), steals (28 total), and was second in assists (47). McCabe ranked fifth all-time in scoring at Colby with 1,241 points and added 729 rebounds for the Mules (9-16).

Cappelloni averaged 13.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, and had 25 blocked shots despite missing one game and playing with an injury for the early part of the season. Cappelloni, a sophomore, has 580 points, 303 rebounds, and 64 blocked shots in two seasons.

Kowalski averaged 8.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, and led the team with 32 blocked shots.
