Women's cross country fourth at Williams

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. --- The Colby College women's cross country team had fine balance as the Mules had four runners in the top 30 and seven in the top 55 in taking fourth place out of 18 teams at the Williams College Purple Valley Classic at Mt. Greylock Regional High School on Saturday.

Katrina Gravel led the Mules in taking 12th place with a clocking of 23 minutes, 32.34 seconds over the 6-kilometer course. Emma Linhard (23:33.36) was 13th, Mandy Ivey placed 17th in 23:51.38, and Cassi Knight took 27th place in 24:17.30.

Williams won the meet with a score of 38 and was followed by Middlebury (66), Amherst (99), and Colby (105). Keene State, the fifth place team, had a score of 174. Amherst's Elise Tropiano won the race in 22:00.64.
