WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College junior goalie Genevieve Triganne (Westminster School/Point-Claire, Quebec), who made 71 saves in two games last week, was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women's Hockey Player of the Week for the week ending December 10.
Triganne allowed just five goals in a 0-1-1 week against two teams with a combined 14-2-1 record. She had 33 stops and gave up one goal in a 2-0 loss to unbeaten Saint Anselm. Triganne also had 38 saves, including 21 saves in the third period and overtime, in a 4-4 tie at Bowdoin in a game where the Mules were out-shot by a 42-14 margin.
Triganne, a tri-captain, is second in the NESCAC in save percentage (.925) and fourth in goals against average (2.54). She has 161 saves in her five starts.
A NESCAC second team selection last year, Triganne has a career .912 save percentage with 1,249 saves and a 2.64 goals against average.
Triganne helped the Mules (1-3-2) to 15 victories last year and a trip to the NESCAC semifinals.
