BRUNSWICK, Maine --- Genevieve Triganne had 38 saves and the Colby College women's hockey team scored three goals on the power play to earn a 4-4 tie with ninth-ranked Bowdoin College on Friday in women's hockey.
Triganne had 14 saves in the third period and added seven more in overtime for the Mules (1-3-2). Bowdoin goalie Samantha Schwager only made 10 saves in the game.
The Polar Bears (4-2-1) and Mules were tied 2-2 after one period. Colby twice fought back to get the score tied at the break on power play goals by Heather Nickerson and Nicole Crocker. Bowdoin had gone up 1-0 when Nickerson scored at 7:20 off an assist from Kaitlyn Conway. The Polar Bears scored less than a minute later at 8:03, but Colby tied the game again when Nicole Crocker tallied off assists from Lauren Goethals and Colette Finley.
After Bowdoin got the only goal of the second period, Colby scored two goals in a row in the third period to take a 4-3 lead. Laura Anning scored unassisted at 6:25 and Amanda Comeau got a goal at 13:40 from Becky Julian. The Polar Bears tied the game for good on Kristen Cameron's goal at 16:02.
