Wheeler stops 31 but not enough for Mules

HARTFORD, Conn. --- Brianne Wheeler had 10 saves or more in all three periods to finish with 31 stops for Colby College, but Alexa Pujol was tough in net as well with 30 saves as Trinity College took a 2-0 win over the Mules in NESCAC women's hockey Friday.

Wheeler had 10 saves in the first period, 11 in the second, and 10 more in the third. Pujol kept her shutout with 15 stops in the third period.

Colby (7-14 overall) had 30 shots in the game, but went 0-for-4 on the power play. Meanwhile, Trinity went 2-for-4 on the power play on goals by Kim Weiss in the second and third period. Weiss has 18 goals on the season.
