WATERVILLE, Maine - Colby College sophomore forward Becky Julian (South Windsor, Conn.) had a pair of goals to pace the Mules to a 2-0 victory over Wesleyan University on Friday night at Alfond Rink.
Julian, who has 27 goals in two seasons at Colby, tallied at 9:32 of the first period off an assist from Laura Anning (Ingramport, Nova Scotia). Anning now has 31 goals and 31 assists in two years with the Mules.
Julian added the insurance goal at 15:53 of the second period from a pass by Heather Nickerson (Falmouth, Mass.).
Genevieve Triganne (Pointe-Claire, Quebec) stopped 15 shots for the Colby shutout. Meanwhile, Wesleyan goalie Rachel Stemerman (Williamsville, N.Y.) made 29 saves.
Colby (8-10-5, 5-7-3 NESCAC) and Wesleyan (4-15-4, 2-9-4) play again Saturday at 3 p.m. in the final regular season game of the year. Colby will find out its opponent in next Saturday’s NESCAC quarterfinals when the pairings are announced Saturday night.
