HARTFORD, Conn. --- Laura Anning got her 50th and 51st career goals as the Colby College women's hockey team scored the final four goals of the game to take a 4-2 win over Trinity College in the regular season finale on Saturday.
Anning has 51 goals and 42 assists for 93 career points in her junior year for Colby (13-8-3), which will host Connecticut College in a NESCAC quarterfinal game next Saturday at 1 p.m.
Trinity (17-4-3) took a 2-0 lead after the first period on goals by Britney McKenna and Laura Komarek.
The game was all Colby after that when the Mules scored three of their four goals on the power play. Anning tallied at 1:26 of the second period with the extra player and Colette Finley tied the game on the power play at 2-2 at 8:21.
Anning got the game-winning goal off another power play goal at 9:02 of the third period and Tatiana Kowalewski notched her first career goal at 9:54 for insurance.
Genevieve Triganne stopped 27 shots in goal for Colby.
