WATERVILLE, Maine --- Becky Julian scored in overtime and Amanda Comeau had three goals to lead the Colby College women’s hockey team to a 6-5 overtime victory over Bowdoin College in New England Small College Athletic Conference play Wednesday night at Alfond Rink.
Colby (6-9-5, 4-7-3 NESCAC) took a 3-1 lead after one period only to see the 10th-ranked Polar Bears (13-6-2, 9-3-3) battle back to take a 5-4 lead with three straight goals in the third period. Comeau got her third goal of the game with 3:16 left in regulation to send the game to overtime.
Julian scored off a shot that barely got past Bowdoin goalie Samantha Schwager and went just over a foot over the goal line. Julian finished with two goals and Laura Anning had one goal and two assists for the Mules.
Katie Forney led Bowdoin with two goals and one assist. Jayme Woogerd, Kristen Cameron and Meghan Gillis also tallied for the Polar Bears.
Lacey Brown stopped 32 shots for Colby and was credited with an assist.
