Julian earns lacrosse national honor

WATERVILLE, Maine --- The honors keep coming in for Colby College as junior attacker Becky Julian (South Windsor, Conn.) was named the National Division III Player of the Week by womenslacrosse.com on Thursday.

Julian helped the Mules win the New England Small College Athletic Conference title for the first time Sunday and set tournament records in points (17) and goals with her 11 goals and 6 assists in three playoff games. She had three goals and one assist in the title game against Trinity College, four goals in an upset win over top-seeded Middlebury College, and had four goals and five assists in a quarterfinal win over Tufts University. The nine points against Tufts also tied a NESCAC playoff record.

Julian, a junior attacker, has been a three-time NESCAC Player of the Week during this season. She ranked third in the NESCAC in points per game (4.13) at the start of the week. Julian has 47 goals and 21 assists for 68 points this season and has career totals of 91 goals and 32 assists for 123 points.

Colby (13-5), which is ranked ninth in the country, and Julian will play at fourth-ranked Hamilton College in a NCAA Division III Tournament regional semifinal Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
