Southern Maine downs Colby in women's hockey

GORHAM, Maine --- Kathy Shei scored the lone goal for the Colby College women's hockey team, but University of Southern Maine tallied three times in the final 10:37 of play to earn a 4-1 victory in non-conference action Tuesday night.

The Huskies (5-12-2) scored the lone goal of the first period on the power play from Kailey Bubier. However, Colby (7-13) answered with the only goal of the second period when Shei notched a power play goal off a pass from Samantha Slotnick.

Katie Paradis, who also had two assists on the night, tallied at 9:23 for USM in the third period. Bubier and Erin Banfield added goals in the final five minutes of play.
