WATERVILLE, Maine --- Amherst College got the only score of the game when Colby College had an own goal in the first overtime period as the Lord Jeffs took a 1-0 win over the Mules in New England Small College Athletic Conference women's soccer play on Saturday.
Amherst (4-4-3, 4-1-1 NESCAC) had a 20-8 shot advantage, but the Mules (3-6-2, 0-6-1) kept the game scoreless through regulation play. A Colby defender mistakenly knocked the ball into her own net at 4:20 of overtime. Lili Ferguson (Winnetka, Ill.) stopped six shots for the Amherst shutout. Loni Pisani (Kanata, Canada) made nine stops to keep Colby in the game.
