Bates gets past women's soccer in overtime

WATERVILLE, Maine --­ Bates College junior forward Amy Werblin (Huntington Beach, Calif.) scored with just 2:52 left in the second overtime session to help the Bobcats earn a 1-0 win over Colby College in New England Small College Athletic Conference women’s soccer Saturday.

Bates (4-10, 1-8 NESCAC) had a 29-13 shot advantage in the game.

Nini Spalding (San Francisco, Calif.) made six saves in getting the shutout for Bates. Colby (4-7-3, 0-7-2 NESCAC) got nine stops from Kathleen Nicholson (Tuftonboro, N.H.).
