Colby women's soccer still unbeaten after win over Husson

BANGOR, Maine --- Liz Morbeck (Seattle, Wash.) scored with 12:50 left in the game to lift the unbeaten Colby College women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Husson College in non-conference play Tuesday.

Husson (3-2-1) took a 1-0 halftime lead when Shelby Pickering (Lee, Maine) scored just 1:18 into the contest off an assist from Kate Nickerson (Belfast, Maine).

Colby's Laura Williamson (Manchester, Conn.), the NESCAC Player of the Week for last week, scored her fourth goal of the season about 16 minutes into the second half from an assist by Meggie Herlihy (Simsbury, Conn.).

Morbeck then got the game-winning goal on a play started on a corner kick by Katie McCabe (Watertown, Conn.). Libba Cox (Guilford, Conn.) got an assist on Morbeck's goal.

Colby (2-0-2) got eight saves from goalkeeper Liza Benson (Orchid, Fla.), while Husson keeper Leah Drew (Lee, Maine) made 10 stops.

The Mules return to league play Saturday with an 11 a.m. game at Trinity College.
