Women's squash opens with two wins

BOSTON, Mass. --- First-year player Kate Pistel won her first two collegiate matches at the second position and Molly Parsons did the same at the third spot to help the Colby College women's squash team earn victories over Northeastern University and Wellesley College on Saturday in matches at MIT.

Madeline Dufour, Lily Greenberg, Alison Crevi, and Jessica Kravetz also won two matches apiece for the Mules (2-0).

Samantha Smith, Colby's first position player, went 1-1 and lost a wild 3-2 match to Northeastern's Tessa Martin. Martin won by scores of 10-12, 13-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-9 (new scoring system). Smith lost her first game in the Wellesley match only to win the final three. Caroline Reaves and Kaeley Shepard also went 1-1 on the day.

The Mules head to Wesleyan University on December 5-6 for matches with Connecticut College and William Smith College.
