MEDFORD, Mass. --- Tara Davidson won at fourth singles and Sally Meehan took the sixth singles match for the Colby College women’s tennis team in a 7-2 setback to Tufts University in New England Small College Athletic Conference action Saturday.
Davidson took a 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 (pro set) victory, while Meehan won 6-3, 3-6, 10-8.
“Tara continued her confident play by defeating a streaky Tufts player. In the end, Tara was just the more steady player,” Colby head coach Doanh Wang said. “Sally is a good competitor. When she stays focused and settles into a match, she puts herself in a position to get positive results.”
The Colby women and the men’s team will both compete at Wesleyan University on Sunday. The men start at 10 a.m. and will be followed by the women at 2 p.m.
