MIDDLETOWN, Conn. --- Sally Holmes won her match at fifth singles and teamed with Katie Brezinski for a victory at third doubles for Colby College in a tough 5-4 loss at Wesleyan University on Saturday in NESCAC women's tennis. Wesleyan won the first three singles and first two doubles matches. Colby falls to 3-5 this spring and 1-3 in the conference heading into Sunday's 10 a.m. match at Connecticut College. Holmes won 6-4, 6-2 over Linda McDougal at fifth singles. Brezinski and Holmes cruised to an easy 8-0 doubles win. The Mules also received singles wins from Kathryn Vergeyle at four and Mckenzie Love in a three-set battle (6-4, 4-6, 7-6) at sixth singles.
