Sheppard sixth in high jump at large meet

BOSTON, Mass. --- Danielle Sheppard finished in a tie for sixth place in the high jump and Laura Duff was 28th in the 1,000-meter run in a large field at the Valentines Invitational at Boston University on Friday.

The meet was comprised of Division I, II, and III schools. There were many club and unattached athletes competing in the events.

Sheppard had a leap of 5-4.25, finishing behind just two other Division III leapers. Meanwhile, Duff took 28th in the 1,000 with a clocking of 3:05.47. Brittany Colford was 41st in the 1,000 with a 3:08.58 and Robyn St. Laurent took 56th with a 3:20.02.

Brittney Bell took 47th place in a field of more than 100 in the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.58. Emma Linhard was 54th in the mile at 5:09.49 in a field of nearly 150. Other Colby finishers included: Brittany Tschaen (78th in 400, 1:02.86), Courtney Laird (92nd in 400, 1:04.81), Annabelle Hicks (96th in 200, 27.85), Greta Wells (96th in 3,000, 10:57.71), Morgan Lingar (98th in 800, 2:27.24), Kate Connolly (100th in 3,000 meters, 10:59.90), Jessica Moore (121st in 800 (2:32.55), and Monica Davis (128th in 800, 2:35.27). The 1,600 relay team of Laird, Ann Norris, Tschaen, and Bell took 33rd place in 4:12.88.
