WATERVILLE, Maine --- The Colby College women's outdoor track and field team had nine athletes earn New England Small College Athletic Conference All-Conference Team honors after placing in the top three at Saturday's league meet.
First-year Brittney Bell (Poland, Maine), senior Amanda Burgess (Auburn, Maine), first-year Claire Dunn (Middletown, Conn.), sophomore Kelly Foster (Waterbury, Vt.), senior Katrina Gravel (Peabody, Mass.), junior Emma Linhard (Brunswick, Maine), senior Heather MacDonald (Hingham, Mass.), junior Danielle Sheppard (Kittery, Maine), and first-year Amy Tortorello (Medway, Mass.) are on the All-NESCAC team.
Gravel was the champion in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:59.55. She was the lone runner to get under 18 minutes.
Linhard was the lone Colby athlete to earn two All-NESCAC honors. She was third in the 1,500 meters in 4:38.25 and ran with Burgess, Dunn, and MacDonald in taking third in the 3,200 relay with a 9:38.71 clocking.
Foster placed second in the discus throw (118-09), Bell was runner-up in the 400 dash (57.74), and Tortorello took a second in the 10,000 meters (39:00.46). Danielle Sheppard was third in the high jump with a leap of 5-5.
