WATERVILLE, Maine --- Brittany Reardon was named Women's Outstanding Rookie Performer and was one of seven Colby College women's track and field athletes to earn New England Small College Athletic Conference All-League honors.
Reardon finished in the top three of three events, while fellow rookie Annabelle Hicks had two finishes in the top three. Danielle Sheppard, Leigh Fryxell, Kelley Foster, Brittney Bell, and Frances Onyilagha also were honored. The top three of each event earned all-conference honors.
Reardon, in her first conference meet, made an immediate impact with a win in the pole vault (11-5.75) and a second in the 100-meter hurdles (15.18). She also teamed with Hicks, Onyilagha, and Bell to win the 400 relay in 48.92. The foursome is inching toward the school record of 48.4 set in 1985.
Danielle Sheppard had the other individual title by taking first place in the high jump by tying her personal best leap of 5-7.
Leigh Fryxell, another first-year athlete, took second in the javelin throw (121-10) and Foster was third in the discus (130-01).
