WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College sophomore Brittany Reardon (Scituate, Mass.) broke her own school record in the 100 hurdles on Saturday and was named as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Perfomer of the Week on Monday.
Reardon had a time of 14.49 to smash her old record of 14.99. She was just edged by MIT's Portia Jones at the line in a meet at Colby's Harold Alfond Stadium.
The winning time at last year's NESCAC meet was 14.89 by Middlebury's Mia Martinez, who is now a senior. Reardon finished second in the 100 hurdles with a 15.18 and was named the NESCAC Outstanding Rookie Performer after winning the pole vault (11-5.75) and helping to win the 400 relay in 48.92. She received three All-NESCAC honors for the league finishes.
Reardon also helped the 400 relay team to a victory Saturday in a time of 48.42, already better than last year's winning NESCAC time. She also placed fifth in the pole vault.
