2011 season highlights: Lowe, who was on the NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team and was a co-cpatain of the Mules, took fourth place in the decathlon at the Open New England Championships. He scored 6,053 points and was the first-ever Colby athlete to amass 6,000 points and broke his own school record (5,981). David was first in the event after the first day and helped his cause by winning the 1,500 meters. Lowe was third in the 400 hurdles to earn All-NESCAC honors in the league meet and was seventh in the event at the New England Division III meet. David also earned the Hillman Award as the top track athlete at the Maine State meet by winning the 400 hurdles, taking second in the triple jump, fifth in the high jump, and fifth in the long jump. He also helped the 1,600 relay team to a victory.
