2011 season highlights: Rich had the best year of his career by finishing fourth in the NESCAC in batting average (.400), second in stolen bases (15), third in total hits (48), fifth in runs scored (35), and fifth in on-base percentage (.474). He led the Mules in all those catergories and also was first on the team in at-bats (120), total bases (65), and slugging percentage (.542). Finished with a solid .982 fielding percentage. Newton finished his career at Colby with a .346 batting average, 124 hits, 97 runs scored, 21 doubles, 45 RBI, and 34 walks. 2010 season highlights: Newton finished with a .367 batting average, 22 runs scored, six doubles, two triples, one homer, 12 RBI, 11 walks, a .532 slugging percentage, and a .474 on-base percentage. He was tied for fifth in the NESCAC in stolen bases with 13 in 14 attempts. 2009 season highlights: Richard batted .275, scored 20 runs, stole five bases, and had a .359 on-base percentage. 2008 season highlights: Newton had a fine first year at Colby with a .316 batting average, 20 runs, four doubles, seven walks, seven stolen bases, and a .371 on-base percentage.  At Colby: Rich is pursuing a major in Government with a minor in Administrative Science... plays football...
