2010 season highlights: Whit earned honorable mention All-American honors and became the sixth player in program history to receive national honors. He was named to the NESCAC and ECAC first team and the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) second team after leading the Mules in scoring with 33 goals and 11 assists. He was fifth in the conference in goals per game (2.06) and seventh in points per game (2.75). McCarthy was second all-time at Colby in goals scored with 118 and added 34 assists for 152 career points. 2009 season highlights: McCarthy earned second team All-NESCAC honors after leading the Mules in scoring with 41 goals and 11 assists. The 41 goals tied a single-season record for Colby. 2008 season highlights: Whit was second on the Mules in scoring with 29 goals and nine assists for 38 points. 2007 season highlights: McCarthy, in his first year, finished third in scoring with 15 goals and three assists for 18 points.  At Colby:  Whit is pursuing a degree in History, with a minor in Administrative Science.  Before Colby:  Whit played lacrosse at Darien High School... named All-American, All-State, and All-FCIAC... Father (Gary) captained Colby's lacrosse team in 1979.
