Walsh earns NESCAC Offensive Player of Week honor

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College senior tri-captain Connor Walsh (Westwood, Mass.), who helped the football team to a 37-13 win over rival Bates College, was honored on Sunday as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Walsh was part of three touchdowns for the Mules during the win on Saturday. He tosseda 26-yard touchdown in the second quarter to give Colby a 16-6 lead at the half. Walsh also had a 64-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter, and ran in a score from 1 yard out in the third quarter.

Walsh finished the day with four receptions for 104 yards. The touchdown pass was his second toss for a score this year (2-for-2). In the latest NESCAC statistics, Walsh ranks seventh in receptions per game (5.33) and yards per game (56.0). He is first on the Mules in catches (32), yards (336), and yards receiving per game. Walsh has 1,194 receiving yards on 129 catches in his career at Colby. He has also rushed for 319 yards and has completed all three of his passes for 88 yards.

Colby will play host to Tufts University in the final home game of the season this Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
