Dewdney takes sixth for Colby women at NESCAC meet

AMHERST, Mass. --- Berol Dewdney finished in sixth place to help the Colby College women's cross country team place fifth at the New England Small College Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday at Amherst College.
 
The Mules had a score of 134 to finish behind Williams College (34), Middlebury College (42), Amherst College (105), and Tufts University (126). Colby was ahead of Colby-Bates-Bowdoin (CBB) rivals Bowdoin College (148), Bates College (177), and Wesleyan University (193), Connecticut College (297), Hamilton College (299), and Trinity College (330).
 
Dewdney finished in a time of 23 minutes, 1 second over the 3.8-mile course. Claire Dunn took 27th place for the Mules in 23:51, first-year Eva Lauer was 29th in 23:54, Layne Schwab placed 46th with a 24:25, and Kate Connolly was 49th in 24:27.
 
Chiara Del Piccolo of Williams won the race in 21:58.
