WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College's Caroline Riina (Balitmore, Md.), who had the top ergometer (erg) score for the women's crew team this spring, was named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association All-American Second Team.
Riina, a senior co-captain, sat in the fifth seat for the Mules' varsity 8. She had a 2,000-meter erg time of 7 minutes, 19.5 seconds.
"She lowered her 2,000 meter erg score by 13 seconds from 2011," Colby head coach Stew Stokes said. "She lived up to the ideals that all captains should, both on and off the water. She took on the challenge of being the best captain she can without losing sight of the need to continue her own improvement."
Riina had already been named to the All-New England Small College Athletic Conference Team earlier this spring.
