Dewdney 72nd at NCAA cross country meet

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. --- Colby College senior Berol Dewdney (Chester, Vt.) finished in 72nd place on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships.

Dewdney finished the 6-kilometer race in 22 minutes, 33.2 seconds at LaVern Gibson Course. The meet was hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The women's race had 277 finishers.

Dewdney, who was running at the NCAA meet for the first time, has earned three All-New England honors and was twice on the New England Small College Athletic Conference First Team. She finished a fine career at Colby with an 11th in the New England Division III meet and a sixth at the NESCAC Championships.

Amherst College's Keri Lambert had the best finish by a NESCAC runner in taking third place. Williams had the best team finish for the league with a fourth place.
